HISTORICAL COMMITTEE

The Madison Chapter Historical Committee is trying to be the first chapter in the region to reach PAR in our PAOE points. We are almost there, largely because of the attached article that was submitted by Mike Meteyer of Marshall Erdman. To reach our goal we need one more similar type of article about a system, person, event or a company in our chapter; or an interview of a prominent chapter member.

Articles do not need to have pictures or be interactive. For many of your companies this is a way to get some FREE advertising, since we will distribute these with the INFORMAIRE.  KJWW Engineering, Madison Trane Company, and Marshall Erdman have taken advantage of this so far.  Systems you designed that have historical value (first of their kind or unique systems) also qualify.

Please enjoy the company histories below and send additional histories or interviews to Jeff Boldt (608) 223-9600 boldtjg@kjww.com .

TEGA

Dear Members, it is getting close to the deadline for submitting applications for TEGA’s Technology Award. Award applications are due in April 2008, but please let Mike Gall, Brian Basken, or Gene Nelson know if you're interested by March 1.  The Purpose of the Technology Awards is to:

Recognize ASHRAE members who design and/or conceive innovatative technological concepts that are proven through actual operating data,

Communicate innovative system designs to other ASHRAE members,

Highlight technological achievement of ASHRAE to others, outside of ASHRAE.

I am including the Short Form for application to the Technology Award. This form only requires two pages of summary of the project, along with a diagram or schematic of the system. If selected as a winner in the Regional competition, you will have the option to revise your application to a maximum of twelve pages describing your system/design (don’t worry, you will have plenty of time to complete this part if selected). We are hoping to get as many applicants as possible, so please take a look at the form and decide if any of your projects meet the requirements. It should only take a few hours to fill out the application, and to summarize your project.

TECHNOLOGY COUNCIL-MEMBERS FIRST!

ASHRAE’s Technology Council has begun producing a quarterly newsletter that is compiled from the committee’s that report to it. The goal is to make the information available and open to all members, thus the name, Member’s First.
